Books & Writing

From my creative studio in Haarlem, the Netherlands, I write books, editorial stories and other long-form projects. My background is in magazines, where I worked for almost twelve years as an editor and coordinating editor for some of the best-known glossy magazines in the Netherlands.

Books, magazines and beautifully made publications have always been a great love of mine. Alongside my own writing, I work with publishers as an author, co-creator, editor and ghostwriter, helping to turn ideas into engaging, accessible books.

My Books & Writing Projects

Over the years, I have written and co-created books, worked as a ghostwriter and developed my own writing programme.

Currently in development
I’m working on my own children’s book projects, combining two things I have loved for as long as I can remember: writing and illustration.

Current publishing projects
I write non-fiction books on assignment for Dutch publishers, translating ideas, research and expertise into accessible and engaging stories for a broad audience.

Free Your Inner Writer
I created the online course Free Your Inner Writer to help people develop and write their own non-fiction book.

2015 — Ghostwriter
Ghostwriter for a Dutch health book.

2014 — Pure Travel Guides: Slow Travel in the City
Four books and an app, published by Unieboek | Het Spectrum (Dutch only).

Together with Jessica van Zanten, I created and wrote the Pure Travel Guides. We developed the concept and app from A to Z in collaboration with the publisher. The series was built around slow travel, highlighting local, independent and more conscious ways of discovering a city.

Working with Book Publishers

Alongside writing books myself, I have worked with Dutch book publishers in different editorial roles.

My work has included:

• Editing books

• Advising on new non-fiction manuscripts and authors

• Creating editorial and promotional content for publishers

• Developing and co-creating book concepts

• Ghostwriting and writing on assignment

I have worked with publishers including Unieboek | Het Spectrum, Kosmos Uitgevers and Altamira Becht.

What I love most about books is the space they offer: to dive deeply into an idea, find the right structure and voice, and build something that can stay with a reader long after the last page.
