You create the story of your life as you are the author. Let go of the stories that no longer serve you and start to write a loving open new spacious story. Create a new narrative of endless possibilities. If you don’t love your story, the next chapter will repeat more of the same. Letting go of the heaviness of the past and walk into a new bright present. Take radical responsibility for our happiness and our journey. One where we blossom instead of staring endlessly at our wounds. A journey where we detach from the drama. Unlearn the learned. Let go of concepts. Dare to give up our identifications. Back to a zero-point: raw, naked, vulnerable but connected. Not easy at all, but liberating. When we dare to do that, step by step, we can end the suffering around our struggles and surrender to a spacious, authentic and beautiful simple life. Not at all a ‘perfect’ life, life is never perfect, but very very real. We relax into the realness of our being.

Weaving the past, present & future

Through writing or creative mentoring I weave with you the past, present and future to live an authentic and integrated life. Being fully present in the Now with an integrated past and a vision for the future, without attachment to either (cause attachment to the past, the future or both keeps us away from being fully present in the magical Now).

The vision you find below is the baseline of a straight, clear, easy and practical methodology to spark true colors. I work with this methodology within The Barefoot Diaries projects and mentoring. This vision is behind the products and services within this brand.

But The Barefoot Diaries is above all an experience: a niche, a magical place, an alchemical journey, a barefoot lifestyle and a playground to be inspired by, to enjoy and to connect through. A space to remember our wildness & wisdom.

The Vision

The Sparkle of your Soul

Joy is our essence, the base of our wholeness where we, sooner or later, can come back to, no matter what we encounter in life. Not by ignoring any darkness, emotions or shadows in ourselves, but by integrating it all and harvest from there. Seeing ourselves fully, with compassion, but we must never forget the playfulness that is our essence. This naked space of mature innocence is there in the core of our being. Of course we might experience truly terrible hardships in life and then we need time to heal deeply. And when we see the daily news the world seems to have gone absolutely mad. But especially now the world needs integrated souls that dare to follow their true colors and lead the way to a ripple effect of more authenticity. Let us be that integrated love warriors. Warriors fighting to overcome and dispel our personal and collective fears and gain freedom at the other side.

Yes, take life and ourselves very seriously and take full responsibility for it all, but at the exact same time don’t take life and ourselves soooo serious. Be playful, open to adventure, open to see things from new perspectives, wonder like a child who sees or experiences something for the first time and never stop learning new things. Dance barefoot on the grass, read a comic book, play without any goal to it. Make your life the most joyous you can.

How do we get there?

The Journey to the Colorful Glitter within

An important part of the vision behind The Barefoot Diaries is the fusion of opposites, like the symbol of Yin/Yang. An integration of what we previously experienced as dualities in life. Dark & light, feminine & masculine, life & death… When we embrace it all, we experience wholeness and in the dynamic where these integrated opposites meet within us, we find the place of our authenticity, our true colors, our joyful essence and innocent sparkle. To me it’s not about only ‘living the light’ or ‘we are light’ at all, it’s about accepting that the darker aspects of our being are as much a part of us as the lighter ones. Look at our deepest shadows and our highest gifts both.

Accept that death is a part of life just like being fully alive is. That only by meeting and acknowledging our shadows and our brightness equally, we experience the wholeness and integration we often long for. The lotus flower grows from the mud and we need the mud & soil as much as the sun to bloom. Not push anything away that feels uncomfortable or to act out our shadow sides, but to just look at all the aspects of our being with compassion. Create a bridge between the conscious and unconscious forces that drive us in life, by making all parts of us visible. Healing what we need to heal and feeling what we need to feel along the way, without attachment to our wounds, emotions or stories. Without control or forcing, but also not look away when our pains, wounds, shadows, feelings or emotions arise and ask our attention. Feel it, heal it, release it, to come back to the joy that is our essence.

Then we express the most glittery alchemy of our soul. The glitter or colorful sparkles that we find where dark and light meet within us: the space of our full potential as human beings.

What helps us within this journey?

Dare to fully relax and allow

Life is so much about allowing. Allowing to meet ourselves fully, with all the pain, rawness, sadness, darkness, deep longings and all the bliss, joy, light, sparkles, strenght and power: then we enter the place of our full potential. A space of mature innocence, playfulness and inner peace. To be fully ALIVE means rawness and bliss both, without attachement to either. Allowing the raw pain and vulnerability of what it means to be a human being living in a world, a system, that’s not in touch with what we truly need. When we have the courage to truly meet ourselves all the way, the stillness and beauty is always there to find inside us, even in the midst of chaos. Dare to break out of ‘running’ all the time, being stressed and the ratrace. Deeply resting and relaxing in the fullness and vulnerability of your being and knowing that this is all you ever have to ‘do’. Knowing that this is good enough and that you are good enough. Deeply trust life, let go of control and surrender to all it has to offer you.

This in itself is a courageous act. We then move from inspired and aligned action only, with our hearts leading the way. With our ignited sparks as direction indicators on our path.

And then?

A vibrand life-force

The more parts of ourselves we own up to, the more we integrate. Our life-force becomes one fully alive and vibrant movement inviting us to express a creative, connected and sensual life. We relax into the authenticity of our natural being and our lives breathe a sense of freedom and spaciousness. Work becomes play, life becomes a dance and we move beyond the Matrix.

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice.
meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.
Be grateful for whatever comes.
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
